It Seems That From Software Isn’t Done With The ‘Armored Core’ Games Just Yet

We may yet have a new ‘Armored Core’ game on the way.

If you remember a while back, there were rumors that From Software was thinking of maybe doing a new Armored Core game, well it seems that the studio isn’t giving up on the classic mecha game series just yet.

After a recent From Software music event, Yasunori Ogura of the studio’s marketing and PR department tweeted:

While I cannot discuss anything right now, we have no intention of ending the Armored Core series in its current state, so I would appreciate it if you can wait a little while longer.

The last game in the series was the excellent Armored Core Verdict Day on PS3 and 360 back in 2013. So the lack of new Armored Core games has been a bit odd, especially when fans were used to having a new game almost every year since the 1997 original.

Talking of the original Armored Core, this year also marks the 20th anniversary of its release and From Software has commemorated that with a free dynamic theme on PS4.

While this dynamic theme isn’t overly amazing, it is nice to know that From Software hasn’t forgotten its mecha gaming roots at least.

As someone that has played and finished every Armored Core game to date, the news of another potential game in the series obviously makes me happy.

With any luck, we might even hear something soon about more new games in the series but in the meantime, fans of mecha games can get their fix with the extremely good Gundam Versus on PS4.
